Eric and Jorja’s PSA is part of the 30 Days for a Million Voices campaign. The US Campaign for Burma unveils a spot every day(usually they are a bit early) and encourages people to sign up and support the Burmese people. Here’s bit about struggle.
The people of the Southeast Asian country of Burma are locked in one of the world’s great freedom struggles. The country’s military rulers, the State Peace and Development Council, have run the country with an iron fist for the past 19 years, after they assumed power from a 26-year socialist dictatorship. In 1988, students, professionals, and others launched a nationwide uprising aimed at bringing an end to authoritarian rule during which millions of people courageously marched on the streets, calling for freedom and democracy.
The military responded by gunning down thousands of demonstrators and imprisoning thousands more in one of Southeast Asia’s most bloody episodes in recent history. The leader of the demonstrations, Min Ko Naing (pronounced Min Ko Nine), has been held behind bars ever since, where approximately 1,400 political prisoners remain. The most recognizable face of Burma, 1991 Nobel Peace Prize recipient Daw Aung San Suu Kyi (pronounced Daw Aung Sawn Sue Chee), has been in and out of house arrest and prison since 1988. Presently, she is held under house arrest.
You can also show your support by joining Fanista. For the entire month of May, 10% of your purchase will go to support the the campaign.

Yesterday, Access Hollywood claimed that Gary released an exclusive statement to them regarding his drug arrest. The problem with the statement is that it was an email exchange between Shaun Robinson an Access Hollywood corespondent and friend of Gary’s. A statement by one of Gary’s reps maintains that this was never intended to be made public. “This was a personal text to a friend taken completely out of context. The exchange was not intended for air or publication.”
Whatever the case, here are Gary’s own thoughts about the situation.
“Obviously I certainly wish I hadn’t been responsible for so many people getting to the festival’s VIP area,” Dourdan is referring to the Coachella festival which Access Hollywood previously mentioned “And the after party, it ran me ragged, but I’m glad pulling over did prevent a DUI. I recommend not driving at all, but a little kip (nap) is always good (on either side of the road LOL).”
“I am blessed that the Sgt. realized that the luggage carrying whatever they found was not mine and that my tests have been coming back negative. I’ve been happy to cooperate in any way to clear myself and go on with my blessed life.”
“I am so sorry to all my fans, especially the young ones, like Taylor Swift, who I should’ve been supporting with my daughter instead of driving tired in the desert,” he wrote. “I am planning events to get the word out that you don’t need a bunch of nasty chemicals to have a good time. Just good friends, family, good music and a good honest spirit full of faith.”
Gary was scheduled to present an award to Taylor Swift last Sunday and presumably his daughter Nyla was set to attend with him.

According to the Chicago Sun-Times, those close to Gary Dourdan have been concerned before the latest incident. ”We have been worried about Gary for some time,” a member the show’s production team told the the newspaper. ”It’s just a shame that he wasn’t able to get the help he needs before this happened.”
Actor Robert David Hall spoke with Newsday.com on Wednesday about the troubled actor’s arrest.
“I actually worked with him yesterday, and everybody was moving on. It’s real hard to get work done when your’re so close to the end of the season .”
He also talked about the support Gary has from the cast and crew. “Almost to a person, I’d say ninety-nine percent of the cast and crew are very hopeful that Gary will be OK, and we love him deeply.”
When questioned about Gary’s departure, Hall didn’t have a concrete answer. “He wants to do other things,” Hall said. “That’s the speculation…You and I and the majority of other people would say, why would anyone leave a hit show but everybody’s different. I can’t comment on why Gary and CBS are parting company, but I was told he has dreams of doing other things. He’s a generous, soulful guy. I read the same stuff you do. I just know him as the guy who gave me a big hug yesterday. The cast and crew want the best for Gary.”
There’s still no official statement from Gary’s camp. He’s due to be arraigned on May 28th. Let’s keep Gary in our thoughts.

Palm Springs Police Department issued this statement regarding Gary’s arrest. There isn’t any new information from what I can tell.
On Monday, April 28 at approximately 5:12 AM, a Palm Springs patrol officer saw an occupied vehicle parked on the wrong side of the street on Sunny Dunes Road west of Gene Autry Trail. According to police reports, the interior light was on and it appeared as if the occupant of the vehicle in the driver’s seat was sleeping. The officer approached the vehicle and made contact with the occupant. He was identified by his California driver’s license as 41-year-old Robert Gary Durdin [Dourdan’s legal name] of Venice, CA. The officer described Durdin as disoriented and possibly under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. The officer subsequently located suspected cocaine, heroin, ecstacy, miscellaneous prescription drugs, and paraphernalia. Durdin was placed under arrest and booked at the Palm Springs Jail for Possession of Narcotics and Possession of Dangerous Drugs. After booking, he was released on $5,000 bail at approximately 10:30 AM on Monday.
