First Pics and Promo of Lawrence Fisburne on CSI

Monday, November 24th, 2008

It’s the end of era and the beginning of another. We’ve got the first photos of Lawrence Fishburne as CSI’s Dr. Raymond Langston. We’ll first see Langston in 19 Down(9×9) when Grissom “secretly joins Langston’s class to gain access to an infamous serial killer, Dick & Jane Killer.”

Earlier this year CBS, had this to say about the character: “Fishburne will play a former pathologist who is now working as an itinerant college lecturer, teaching a course in criminalistics. His focus is on understanding criminal behavior, how and why people commit acts of violence — tendencies he disturbingly sees within himself. In the course of a murder investigation, he comes into contact with the CSI team and ultimately joins the Las Vegas Crime Lab as a Level-1 CSI.”

The episode will air on December 11.

Jorja Fox Attends Artist and Athletes Forum

Wednesday, November 19th, 2008

Last week Jorja Fox and other Hollywood types attended a panel discussion on “what to expect from Washington”.   It’s was part of a post election panel sponsored by The Artists and Athletes Alliance. Panelist include CNN’s Roland Martin and GOP strategist Fred Davis. The Alliance is co-chaired by Jason Alexander and Kelsey Grammer.

The Alliance “assist artists and athletes in navigating the halls of government, as well as helping them better understand the political process.” Others at the November meeting included Isaiah Washington, KaDee Strickland, Tom “Owner of the BoSox” Warner, Robert Knepper, Robbie Jones, Francis Fisher, Scott Wolfe, Alicia Witt and Joel McHale.

The advisory board itself includes Taye Diggs, Lauren Holly, and Percy Miller(aka Master P). I’m not sure if this group has any clear cut political agenda but the membership seems very diverse. Kelsey Grammer is a conservative while Jorja donated money to John Edward’s presidential bid.

Linkin Park Song Featured on CSI

Thursday, November 6th, 2008

Tonight’s episode is named after a Linkin Park song that’s also featured in prominently in the episode.
Leave Out All the Rest is on the band’s latest album Minutes to Midnight. It will be played at the beginning and end of the episode in addition to being the “underlying score throughout the episode.”

During the promo, we see shots of Sara talking about a relationship withering. Grissom also seeks out Lady Heather and Lady Heather wants to know if Sara knows he’s there. This on top of his obvious grief for Warrick.

“We found the melody and lyrics of the song to work so well with our story, that we underscored Grissom’s emotional journey with it,” said Jason Alexander themusic supervisor for CSI. “We’ve been long admirers of Linkin Park and it was wonderful for us to collaborate on something special like this.”

Exec producer Carol Mendelsohn said, “We have always been huge fans of Linkin Park. They have an anthemic sound that’s full of strength and simultaneous vulnerability. They were perfect for the show and the conflict within it.”
