Grissom’s Departure Marks Big Ratings For CBS

Sunday, January 18th, 2009

Variety reports that One to Go earned C’SI’s largest ratings since September 2007. President Bush’s own final speech created 15-minute delay for East Coast viewers, the episode had 24.3 million viewers and “6.6 rating /14 share in the adults 18-49 demo.”

CBS won the night in it’s entirety. Grey’s had the lowest number of viewers int he series history with 13 million viewers(woe that’s nearly half of CSI’s viewership).

We can expect William Petersen and probably Jorja Fox to return to the show from time to time. He’s still exec production so expect him to have some influence in the show as it moves on without him. I think it’s important to the viewers that William Petersen approves of Laurence Fishburne as a replacement and that Grissom approves of Dr. Langston as a replacement.  I look forward to seeing how the show evolves with Dr. Langston as part of the team.  How do you feel about the new cast member?

Video:William Petersen Talks Grissom Part 2

CBS released another video of William Petersen talking about Grissom’s exit.   We’ve seen some of the quotes in an earlier video. Still it’s good stuff.

Taylor Swift Set for CSI Guest Appearance

Wednesday, January 14th, 2009

Singer and budding actress Taylor Swift will appear in a CSI episode later this season. She’ll play a “a troubled teenager whose parents own a motel.”  The episode begins in the present and flashes back to the previous year season by season.

Executive producer Carol Mendelsohn told US Weekly that Taylor is a huge fan of the show. “Before Christmas, we reached out to Taylor Swift because one of the CBS executives had told me, ‘Taylor loves your show.’ So Taylor came in to meet with me right before the holidays and we talked about the character.”

Mendelsohn warned the country singer that the part wasn’t all sunshine and light, “I said, ‘it’s a very edgy part, this may not be what you want. But she said, ‘I love it, and I want to do it.’”

According to Menhelsohn, the change will be dramatic, “This young girl will change physically, will change her hair,” Mendelsohn said. “I mean, clearly, your outward manifestation reflects the turmoil that’s inside of you, and so it’s really a very challenging role.”

The episode is set to air in late February or early March.

Melina Kanakaredes At Golden Globe Style Lounge

Friday, January 9th, 2009

Melina Kanakaredes hung out the the Golden Globe Style Lounge. Celebs usually pick up some sweet swag at these pre-awards-show lounges and parties. Looks like Melina is no exception. She is signing a bottle of Little Black Dress wine which usually means a bottle will be auctioned off for charity. Stay tuned.  I’ll alert if it goes up for auction.

Video:Grissom’s Best Moment’s

Thursday, January 8th, 2009

As you’ve probably guessed by now there’s never too much Grissom for me. CBS compiled a video what they consider to be Grissom’s best moments. Interesting that they end with the proposal…

Video:William Petersen Looks Back At CSI

Thursday, January 8th, 2009

Wow. It’s getting more real every single day.

Eva LaRue Covers InStyle Weddings

Tuesday, January 6th, 2009

Eva LaRue is stunning on the Winter 2009 InStyle Weddings. Eva and fiance Joe Cappucino have planned a a Mexico wedding for about 40 family members and friends in June. Eva told InStyle that she never intended to marry for a third time(she’s previously married John O’Hurley and All My Children co-start John Callahan).

“I told him, ‘I’m looking for a long-term companion, but I don’t see the sense in getting married again,’” Eva said.

It didn’t take long for Eva’s to change her mind. “Within a month or two, we were both on the wedding train. It just seemed silly not to marry the person you’ve loved more than anybody.”

The magazine is currently on newsstands.

Although the date is set no dress has been purchased. “I want one that’s long but not too poufy,” she says. “But I haven’t had a chance to go shopping yet.”

Laurence Fishburne Headed to CSI Miami

Tuesday, January 6th, 2009

Wow.  I’m not sure that William Petersen would have ever agreed to this and I’m not sure that Laurence has either but there’s talk that he might head to over to CSI Miami for a crossover episode.   According to David Caruso, it just might happen.

“I talked to [Fishburne] the other night, and he’s said he’s open to [a crossover].” Caruso said to E! News. “I’ve been on all three CSIs, and I take that as a badge of honor. The [crossovers] really work, so I hope we get to do one.”

It’s no secret that William Petersen was never a huge fan of the spin-offs and even passed up a chance to be an executive producer on Miami. It’ll be interested to see how such a serious actor handles the fun factor on Miami.
