seventh-season.jpg

Fans are sponsoring a raffle in an ongoing effort to support the WGA. Proceeds from the drawing will benefit the Actor’s Fund.

You could win Season Seven DVDs signed by David Rambo and Naren Shankar, a CSI cap signed by Marg Helgenberger and George Eads or a brand new Sony Cybershot DSCW55 7.2MP Digital Camera in Blue signed by David Rambo which was used to take pictures of the picketing.

Here’s how you enter:

1. For every $1 you donate via the Paypal button below, you get one raffle entry…for example $5 gets you 5 entries, $3 gets you 3.

2. When you send your Paypal please include a note designating which item you are entering for, otherwise your chances will be distributed equally.

3. The drawing will close on December 23rd at Midnight Pacific Standard time. The winners will be announced on December 24th. (This could be a nice last minute Christmas gift to yourself)

4. It doesn’t matter where you live, the raffle is open to anyone who wants to participate.

5. All money raised will be donated to the Actor’s Fund from YTDaW in David Rambo’s name.

The Actors Fund is a nationwide human services organization that helps all professionals in performing arts and entertainment. The Fund is a safety net, providing programs and services for those who are in need, crisis or transition. They offer social services, health care services, employment and training and housing. (See what you learn being a CSI fan. I’d heard of the Actors Fund but had no idea what they did.)

Special thanks to daphne dnagerlove for putting this together.

Win the Watching CSI Trivia Contest

Friday, October 19th, 2007

readingcsi.jpg

Alrighty folks we’ve got our first contest going.
What do you win?
I started here because it’s really the most important part. The prize is a spiffy new copy of Reading CSI:Crime TV Under the Microscope. It’s a really interesting book that looks at the CSI franchise from some pretty intriguing angles(It’s really hard for me to let this one go but for you guys I’ll do it).

Reading CSI:Crime TV Under the Microscope is a collection of critical discussions(all three CSIs are included) from a wide range of perspectives.

Some of my favorite topics are:

  • Anatomizing Gil Grissom
  • The deeper meaning behind Horatio Cain’s sunglasses
  • Mac Taylor’s melancholy in association with 9/11
  • The pornographic quality of the CSI effect
  • Here’s how is going to work.
For every trivia fact you submit you’ll get one entry. Trivia can be concerning any character from any CSI or any cast member of any CSI.  Entries will be taken until November 1st.

Trivia is classified as a little known fact.
    Examples of trivia:
Gary Dourdan was discovered by Debbie Allen as he walked down a street in Paris.

    Not trivia:
Mac Taylor is a widow. Mac Taylor plays bass.
Marg Helgenberger is an Emmy and Golden Globe winner.
    How do you enter?
Reply to this entry or email me at kd.griffin[at]451press.net.

I look forward to reading all your great trivia submissions. Thanks to Palgrave Macmillan. for providing the prize.

Check out another great 451 contest over at Country Musical Herald.
