Eva La Rue attended the 5th Annual Friends of El Faro Benefit to raise funds for the kids of Tijuana’s Casa Hogar Sion Orphanage on August 7, 2008 at Boulevard 3 in Hollywood, California. The Friends of El Faro was founded by Adam Smith and his wife Leigh Kilton-Smith. Since 2000, the couple have “have been traveling with a circle of friends to Tijuana, Mexico every four to five weeks to spend the weekend with the more then 100 children of Casa Hogar Sion orphanage.”
The oprhanage itself opened in 1999 when “Mama Carmen and Papa Jorge Gonzales opened the doors of their home to a few abandoned children living on the street”. Eventually the couple used their retirement savings to purchase a piece of land.
Last year, Jorja Fox and other CSI Vegas cast memebers helped support the organization by donating an autographed script and a Jorja Fox recorded phone message for auction. To learn more about how you can help click HERE.
Khandi will joined Wire alumns Wendell Pierce and Clarke Peters in Treme, a series set in post Katrina New Orleans. Khandi plays a bar owner and ex -wife of Pierce’s character Antoine Batiste. I don’t believe that Khandi has worked with Pierce before but she did work with Peters in the groundbreaking The Corner. It’s good to see her finding new projects and challenging herself. She was a phemom as Fran in The Corner. where she played a crack addicted woman.
Before CSI:Miami Khandi also worked as Whitney’s Houston choreographer from 1988-1993. She then went on to star as Catherine Duke on NewsRadio and the recurring character Jackie Robbins on ER. Khandi worked has been on CSI:Miami sense the first season. It was certainly time for her to move on spread her wings. Can’t wait to see her in this project.
Eva LaRue recently announced her engagement to businessman Joe Capuccio, with a wedding date set for 2009. This is Eva’s third marriage. She was previously married to John O’Hurley and All My Children co-star John Callahan whom she shares a daughter with.
She met her fiance’ in the fall through a friend. “We hit it off, and we’ve been inseparable ever since.”
Eva is glad that Joe’s isn’t in show business. “He owns a seafood company and exports fish all over the world,” Eva said. “A totally different business, which is awesome!” Joe proposed in during a vacation in Africa. “I was driven to tears and totally speechless as he placed the four-carat ring on my finger.” The couple will return to African for the wedding.
Congratulations! I’m sure it will be a beautiful ceremony.
I know we’ve all seen this a million times but it’s always fun to revisit this montage of David Caruso one liners since we are on Miami hiatus. You can’t beat the David Caruso wonderful cheesiness with a stick.
David Caruso and Emily Procter talk about the season finale. Going Ballistic airs on Monday, May 19.

TV Guide reports another cast shake up. CSI Miami original cast member Khandi Alexander is set to depart. CBS declined to comment but Ausiello insists that Khandi had “had some, um, issues with a certain aspect of the show and leave it at that, K?” CBS is said to be looking for a new medical examiner. This one will be male. I wonder who’ll they’ll cast.
Khandi started out as a dance and choreographer. Her stage credits include Dreamgirls and Chicago. She even choreographed Whitney Houston’s road show for four years. She came to my attention as Fran in the miniseries The Corner. With her talent there’ll be no shortage of work. Good luck Khandi. We hate to see you go.
