Marg Helgenberger Files for Divorce

Wednesday, March 25th, 2009

marghalan.jpg

Marg Helgenberger filed a petition to divorce husband Alan Rosenberger on a Tuesday in Los Angeles court.  The couple, separated for over four months, married in 1989 after meeting on the set of Ryan’s Hope.

“After 19 years of marriage, Marg and Alan have decided to take some time apart,” a rep said after the couple announced their separation. “They love and respect each other and remain committed to their family.”

Marg cited irreconcilable differences as cause for the filing. She’s requesting spousal support and asking that she and Alan split attorney’s fees.   Alan appeared on CSI twice, once in 2005 and the second time in 2007. He played a sleazy attorney that had a thing for Catherine. He currently serves as SAG president.

It’s rare that they a Hollywood marriage lasts so long. Lets all keep a good thought for Alan and Marg.

E.T. Phone CSI?

watchingcsicomhenrythomas

Remember the kid that stole our heart in 80’s blockbuster? Looks like he’s all grown up. Henry Thomas is set to appear on CSI as a convicted killer serving a life sentence. The May sweeps episode looks at Catherine’s early days a as a CSI.

The 38-year-old actor plays a convict Catherine  investigated during her first solo case. Thomas’ character questions the findings after nearly 20 years to study up on forensics. I checked out Thomas’ IMBD profile and he’s worked steadily, if not famously, since his role in the groundbreaking film.

If memory serves me correctly we’ve  had at least one episode that showed Catherine as a very young woman.

I wonder if this ep will feature any Grissom references. Maybe Catherine talks to him on the phone.  They could use his voice for flashbacks and present day.

Lauren Lee SmithTakes the Lead On CSI

CSI’s newest cast member is the center of tomorrow’s night’s tension fraught episode. We learn a great deal about  Riley Ryan after she’s taken hostage during an investigation.

“They’ve played with this whole idea of her being mysterious and always telling a different story about her background, which I like and which keeps the character very open,” Lauren Lee Smith said during an onset interview.

“Every episode I get, I’m like, ‘Oh, this is what they’re doing with her.’ It keeps it more interesting for me personally not to know too much in advance.”

Smith landed the role after a pilot she’d worked on wasn’t picked up. “I’m very lucky. I don’t know how it all came about. I sort of blinked and suddenly I’m here and living in L.A. on the No. 1 TV show. I just feel very, very blessed.”

Taylor Swift ‘Obsessed’ with CSI

Thursday, March 5th, 2009

gw343h245

Taylor Swift makes an appearance on CSI tonight.  That’s a good thing for the young singer because she’s a huge fan.

“I am obsessed with the show. I have seen every episode every season,” Taylor told ET.

She was not prepared for how tough playing a dead body is. “I’ve watched the show for so long, but in the beginning when you see the dead bodies you don’t realize that those are people that are sitting really still and holding their breath and having their eyes in one direction, because they’re so good.”

The episode centers around three muders that occured in one hotel over the course of a year.  Nick Stokes is the lead investigator.  “The story is this girl is a victim of circumstances,” says Taylor while shooting the episode. “She has this lack of self-esteem, which is why she feels she needs to change into a different person to be loved.”

William Petersen Receives Walk of Fame Star

Thursday, February 5th, 2009

williampetersenwalkfame6

William Petersen received the 2,379th star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame Tuesday. (You’ll have to forgive me for posting so late.  I’ve been swamped at work.)

“I’m overwhelmed by this, needless to say. I never expected it, I never thought of this…” Billy said. “You know I feel privileged and honored and incredibly humbled.”

Marg Helgenberger paid a special tribute to her co-star of nine years.

“I can’t think of anyone more deserving of this honour, Billy. Millions of fans love him for his many memorable roles, yet the sum of all the parts he’s played don’t come close to the complexity, the kindness, the mystery, the loyalty and the generosity that is Billy himself.”

You can check out photos of Billys with his wife Gina, on screen love Jorja Fox and many more members of the cast and creative team.

CSI’s Bobby Dawson Fight Off Mugger

Tuesday, February 3rd, 2009

mccullouch0109

Former CSI supporting cast member Gerald McCullough recently fought off an attacker during a late night subway ride.

“It was about 2 a.m.,” McCullouch said. “I have a place here now, so I take that train at least once a month. I was trying to reach my buddy, Keith Collins, who was having a party at Antik. But my iPhone died, so I took out my laptop to recharge it. I started working on a YouTube video I’d been editing on the plane.

“The train was pulling into the Utica Blvd. station when I noticed someone cross in front of me. Just as the doors opened, he reached for the laptop. I guess he thought he’d grab it and dash out the door, but I gave him a body shot to the chest.”

McCullough, an amateur boxer, thinks his work in the ring helped him take control the situation.

“I don’t know why I did that except that I box three or four days a week and had just been in the ring about eight hours before. Also, I didn’t want to give up my computer after working on my video all that time.
“Well, that’s when he pulled a kitchen knife out of a black plastic bag. This thing must have had a blade 10 inches long. The other passengers started running out the door and into the next car.

In response, the thief pulled a large knife.

“I still had my headphones on with music blaring. I yelled at the top of my lungs, ‘Get the [bleep] away from me!’ That’s when the knife came down into my back. I don’t know whether he lost his grip or what, but the blade didn’t penetrate my leather jacket.”

McCullough got off the train and went straight to a local police station.

Police arrested James Torres for robbery, assault, menacing and criminal possession of a weapon.

Grissom’s Departure Marks Big Ratings For CBS

Sunday, January 18th, 2009

Variety reports that One to Go earned C’SI’s largest ratings since September 2007. President Bush’s own final speech created 15-minute delay for East Coast viewers, the episode had 24.3 million viewers and “6.6 rating /14 share in the adults 18-49 demo.”

CBS won the night in it’s entirety. Grey’s had the lowest number of viewers int he series history with 13 million viewers(woe that’s nearly half of CSI’s viewership).

We can expect William Petersen and probably Jorja Fox to return to the show from time to time. He’s still exec production so expect him to have some influence in the show as it moves on without him. I think it’s important to the viewers that William Petersen approves of Laurence Fishburne as a replacement and that Grissom approves of Dr. Langston as a replacement.  I look forward to seeing how the show evolves with Dr. Langston as part of the team.  How do you feel about the new cast member?
