All together now. YES. Jorja will return for the season premier plus several other season 10 episodes.
“We’re thrilled for Jorja’s return to `CSI,’” executive producer Carol Mendelsohn said, adding that viewers will “discover where life has taken Sara Sidle and what brings her back to the `CSI’ team in Las Vegas in our premiere episode.”
The last we saw of Sara she was in the Costa Rican jungle making out with Gil. Wonder what’s bringing her back to Vegas and if William Petersen will return at some point during the season. Hopefully TPTB won’t muck up what was a successful but non intrusive crime drama romance. What do you guys think of Sara returning?
Exciting isn’t it? What are your hopes for Sara’s return. I know you have some.
Hill Harper recently attended the a thank dinner for the President’s National Finance Committee. The dinner was “thank you from Obama and the Democratic National Committee to members of his presidential campaign’s national finance committee and members of the DNC’s National Advisory Board.” I’m not sure if Hill served on the finance committee (I think he did) but he was a huge supporter of the president from the beginning of his campaign.
Click below for a snippet of the President’s address to the crowd:
Most of Gary’s fans know he’s part of Hollywood’s conservative contingent. Now his name is being floated around as a possible savior to the troubled GOP. Nicole Wallace, a top Republican adviser thinks Gary’s acting background could help the party, “The natural strengths that an actor brings to politics would come in handy to anyone going up against Obama in 2012. We will need an effective communicator who can stand toe to toe with Obama’s eloquence.”
I’ve never heard Gary express any interest in public office but rumor has it that he, Jon Voight, Kelsey Grammer and Patricia Heaton meet regularly as part of an informal group of conservative entertainers in Hollywood. If I were a betting mean I’d bet that Gary won’t actually run for office any time soon but could make some appearances at major GOP events in the next few years. Convention speech anyone?
Well not exactly but it’s a nice surprise for fans of both shows. The April 16 CSI episode features a guest appearance by Battlestar Galactica star Kate Vernon and a cameo by BSG creator Ronald D. Moore. Two BSG writers and director Michael Nankin also pitch in for the episode.
“It’s about a murder at a science fiction convention,” explained CSI Naren Shankar “It has a bit of a Battlestar Galactica vibe to it.”
“It’s a really fun episode,” Vernon told TVGuide.com. “I play a professor of media theology, and I’m making a documentary on the Gestalt constructs of sci-fi mythoculture.”
The episode’s murder investigation takes the team to a science fiction convention. “It’s a little wink to Battlestar,” Vernon added.
I know from hanging around the fandom that lots of CSI fans are huge BSG fans. A good time should be had by all.

President Bush is set to give a farewell speech tomorrow. CBS has released a press release indicating that they will broadcast all programing for the evening. You’ll have to record a bit longer or stay up later to watch Grissom’s farewell but the show will still air.
CBS PROGRAMMING ADVISORY FOR THURSDAY, JAN. 15
CBS’s Thursday nightprime time schedule will be broadcast in its
entirety on Jan. 15, immediately following President Bush’s address to
the nation.
CBS’s lineup for the night includes a rebroadcast of the Dec. 11
episode of CSI: CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION, which introduced Laurence
Fishburne to the cast, followed by William Petersen’s farewell episode
of CSI and ELEVENTH HOUR.
Singer and budding actress Taylor Swift will appear in a CSI episode later this season. She’ll play a “a troubled teenager whose parents own a motel.” The episode begins in the present and flashes back to the previous year season by season.
Executive producer Carol Mendelsohn told US Weekly that Taylor is a huge fan of the show. “Before Christmas, we reached out to Taylor Swift because one of the CBS executives had told me, ‘Taylor loves your show.’ So Taylor came in to meet with me right before the holidays and we talked about the character.”
Mendelsohn warned the country singer that the part wasn’t all sunshine and light, “I said, ‘it’s a very edgy part, this may not be what you want. But she said, ‘I love it, and I want to do it.’”
According to Menhelsohn, the change will be dramatic, “This young girl will change physically, will change her hair,” Mendelsohn said. “I mean, clearly, your outward manifestation reflects the turmoil that’s inside of you, and so it’s really a very challenging role.”
The episode is set to air in late February or early March.
Well folks our time with Grissom as a perment fixture on CSI is coming to a close. Looks like the team even knows.

After nearly two decades of marriage, Marg Helgenber and Alan Rosenberger released a statement announcing their amicable separation:
“After 19 years of marriage, Marg and Alan have decided to take some time apart. They love and respect each other and remain committed to their family.”
The camera-ready couple tied the knot in September 1989 after meeting as costars on the soap opera Ryan’s Hope. The duo reteamed onscreen in recent years, with Rosenberg having guest-starred in multiple episodes of CSI.
The couple have and 18-year-old son together. Alan is president of the Screen Actor’s Guild. The guild recently called for a strike vote after negotiations with studios broke down.
My thoughts are with both Marge and Alan during this difficult time.

Tonight’s episode is named after a Linkin Park song that’s also featured in prominently in the episode. Leave Out All the Rest is on the band’s latest album Minutes to Midnight. It will be played at the beginning and end of the episode in addition to being the “underlying score throughout the episode.”
During the promo, we see shots of Sara talking about a relationship withering. Grissom also seeks out Lady Heather and Lady Heather wants to know if Sara knows he’s there. This on top of his obvious grief for Warrick.
“We found the melody and lyrics of the song to work so well with our story, that we underscored Grissom’s emotional journey with it,” said Jason Alexander themusic supervisor for CSI. “We’ve been long admirers of Linkin Park and it was wonderful for us to collaborate on something special like this.”
Exec producer Carol Mendelsohn said, “We have always been huge fans of Linkin Park. They have an anthemic sound that’s full of strength and simultaneous vulnerability. They were perfect for the show and the conflict within it.”
Social viewing rooms are the latest CBS innovation. I noticed these when I missed an episode of CSI and watched it later on the CBS site. Friends from around the country are “able to join a virtual room to watch a synchronized playback of popular programs while chatting, taking polls, quizzes and even throwing such animated objects as tomatoes and kisses at the screen.”
“In the past when you watch videos online, it’s a very isolating experience,” said Anthony Soohoo, senior general manager of CBS Interactive. “This takes people 3,000 miles away and makes them feel like they’re sitting on the couch next to each other. The social viewing room is a next-generation social media platform that lets users engage with each other and the content they are watching in a fun new way.”
I agree. Watching video can be a very isolating experience even when you have people to view with. Sometimes friends and family don’t get your zeal for a particular program nor are they up on the history. Has H ever gotten over Marisol? Will Sara and Grissom ride off into the sunset together? I used to hang out in a CSI chatroom with some online friends while CSI is was on and it was really a fund experience.
I really like the idea of social viewing. Would any Watching CSI readers be interested in setting up a viewing after a show aired? It could be lots of fun. I’d love to meet our readers. Has anyone tried a viewing room with a group of friends? I’d love to hear about it.
Giggly over Grissom? Hot for Horatio? Manic over Mac? We follow the ins and outs of all three CSIs. We cover everything from CSI contract negotiation to light spoilers. I promise I won't ruin any major plot twist for you.
We'll cover our actors on the red carpet, working on other projects of course on our beloved CSI. CSI is one of the most successful franchises in TV history. We won't miss one titillating moment. The evidence never lies.
