Jorja Fox on the Cover of Curve Magazine…

Monday, May 21st, 2007

Sorry gals and guys she doesn’t answer THAT question. Look on the bright side she doesn’t squash anyone’s fantasies. Jorja Fox Online has the entire interview. Here’s a snippet:
Update: This interview is actually from 2005. Still it’s a nice read.

So it sounds like you don’t do anything too extreme.

I’m lucky because I’m really tall and I have really long limbs. I’m actually not in great shape. I always think I can be in better shape, and I kind of wish I was one of those people that was more disciplined about being in better shape. That’s the thing, I could never spend like four hours a day in a gym. I just couldn’t do it. It’s sort of a trade-off. I never think of myself as somebody that’s in great shape. I don’t have a scale in my house. I was a chubby kid. I was chubby from like 8 to 16, and so that was like one of those things, it’s just better for me not to obsess over that. My mom was a Depression mom, and God bless her, there wasn’t enough food in the house [so] she just fed my brother and I. She just overfed us. She was so happy to have money to have food on the table. I was eating like five meals a day until I was about 16, and then I realised, you know, maybe I could cut down to three. I’d probably be OK.

Gary Dourdan and Eric Szmanda Arrive at The Country Music Awards

Wednesday, May 16th, 2007

Two of our favorite CSIs hit the orange carpet. Gary is a man with of many necklaces and some very tight jeans. He’s been wearing lots of standard black jackets lately. I’d like to see him at least mix up the style even if he doesn’t wear some brighter colors. Eric is quirky and fun. I really do think he and Greg are very much alike.

Louise Lombard’s Pilot Not Picked Up

Tuesday, May 15th, 2007

Judy’s Got a Gun, Louise Lombard’s pilot was not picked up by ABC. That doesn’t mean it won’t get picked up Things happen over the summer that can change the entire landscape of the fall lineup.

If you’ll remember CSI already set the scene for LL’s possible departure when the sheriff suggested she could go far. We’ll just have to wait and see if she returns.

Here’s a little bit more info about the proposed series courtesy of the Futon Critic:

JUDY’S GOT A GUN (ABC) - “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation” co-star Louise Lombard has landed the title role the drama pilot, about a suburban woman who balances being a single mother with being a detective investigating bizarre suburban crimes. Her character, Judy Lemen, is fully detailed in the casting notice as follows: “30s, fit, attractive, sexily muscular, Judy’s a “dual personality: she’s a single mom who loves action. Desperately trying to balance home and work.” Recently divorced, the mother of 7 years old Brenna, Judy’s a resident of suburban San Carlos, where she’s recently become a police detective again, after a hiatus of five years to be with her family. In her first six months of training, Judy’s a natural: courageous, loves the excitement/danger but doesn’t go overboard, sensible, with a warm, sensitive touch that sometimes makes people talk. Judy enjoys the camaraderie and advice of the women who work with her, Pamela and Maya, who tell her never to let men know she’s a cop - tell him she’s in real estate. Though Judy’s somewhat attracted to her daughter’s friend’s dad, Richard Palm, she’s even more attracted to her colleague Gavin Lynch - though their relationship, despite the attraction, is off to a rocky start. On her first days on the force, Judy makes a good impression, some friends, and even a possible if problematic love interest.”

Commitment: Ordered to pilot
Cast: Colm Feore (Captain Ruttgauer), Louise Lombard (Judy Lemen), Margo Harshman (Maya Spektor), Michael Michele (Pamela Coates), Steve Sandvoss (Patrick)
Writers: Michelle King, Robert King
Director: Sheree Folkson
Executive Producers: Michelle King, Robert King, Stu Bloomberg (Cabloom!)
Studio: ABC Television Studio

John McEnroe On ‘CSI: NY’ (CBS News)

Wednesday, May 9th, 2007

Sorry I didn’t get this up earlier. I actually missed it. This is nice little chat with John McEnroe along with Melina Kanakaredes and Gary Sinise. Stella telling Mac that he doesn’t play politics very well sounds like Catherine talking to Grissom. I don’t guess any of our three leading men do the political scene very well.

CSI Cities Stars Too

Wednesday, May 9th, 2007

This article talks a little bit…well a lot about the various locales. Heres a snippet which explains the premise for Vegas during the first season. Apparently it wasn’t supposed to be so… Vegasy, Actually it wasn’t. The stories could happen mostly anywhere. Of course that all changed later.

The rest of the article can be found

Here

It wasn’t supposed to be this way. When series creator Anthony Zuiker, who lives in Las Vegas, received the go-ahead for the original “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation,” it included a caveat from his bosses at Jerry Bruckheimer Television: America’s gambling capital could be a backdrop, but the setting shouldn’t be too location-specific.

“The signature shot of strip was to say We’re in Vegas, but we’re not,’ ” said “CSI” executive producer Carol Mendelsohn. “The story could happen anywhere.”

The first season, in 2000-01, generally stayed true to that premise. But Las Vegas started to become prominent the next year — one episode featured Lady Heather the dominatrix in a look at the seedy side of Sin City.

Gary Dourdan In Black August

Tuesday, May 8th, 2007

This is some powerful looking stuff. Gary Dourdan plays George Jackson, author and Black Panther Party Member. Check out the Wikipedia blurb below.

It’s good to see Gary getting some meatier rolls. It’s an independent film and I can’t seem to get a firm release date. It seems it’s already out in some cities.

Born in Chicago, Illinois, several juvenile convictions resulted in Jackson spending time in the Youth Authority Corrections facility in Paso Robles. Jackson was convicted for stealing $70 at gunpoint from a gas station and was imprisoned as a felon for one year to life at age 18.

While at San Quentin State Prison in 1966, he founded the Black Guerrilla Family, a Marxist prison gang with political objectives. The original goals of the group were to eradicate racism, to maintain dignity in prison and to overthrow the United States government.[citation needed]

On January 16, 1970, along with Fleeta Drumgo and John Clutchette, he was charged with murdering a guard, John V. Mills, in retaliation for the killing of three black activists by a guard, O.G. Miller, at the California’s Soledad prison (the San Quentin guard had been acquitted after the Grand Jury ruled the killings as justifiable homicide [specify]). He was incarcerated in the maximum-security cellblock at Soledad Prison. Jackson and the other two inmates became known as the “Soledad Brothers.”

Isolated in solitary confinement for 23 hours a day, Jackson studied political economy and radical theory and wrote two books, Blood in My Eye and Soledad Brother, which became bestsellers and brought him world-wide attention.

On August 7, 1970, George Jackson’s 17-year-old brother Jonathan burst into a Marin County courtroom with an automatic weapon, freed three San Quentin prisoners and took Judge Harold Haley as a hostage to demand freedom for the three “Soledad Brothers.” However, Haley, prisoners William Christmas and James McClain, and Jonathan Jackson were killed as they attempted to drive away from the courthouse. The case made national headlines.

AND

Conflicting theories about death

George Jackson or someone in the Center had obtained the pistol from someone[citation needed] . The alternative press and other left-wing commentators postulated that prison officials, with the FBI, had actually given Jackson the gun in order to cause an incident in which he could be eliminated. They alleged that the George Jackson tragedy that had claimed his life and those of five others was all part of a government conspiracy to specifically destroy the Black Panthers and wreck the civil rights movement as a whole.

David Caruso Talks About Marriage and the Famous Sunglasses

Monday, May 7th, 2007

The PalmBeastPost.Com has a nifty interview with David Caruso. It’s a nice read. We learn about Caurso’s marriage plans or lack thereof and why Horatio always has his hands on his hips. The reporter also talks about how nice and jovial Caruso is. Big change from NYPD Blue days. Good for him. He seems to have grown and changed.

Caruso shows that if you are willing to change you can come back from some bad behavior. He’s now staring in one of the most popular shows worldwide. The key is that you’ve got to be able to grow. Lots of people aren’t able to do that. He’s seems to have found some peace in life.

Here’s a little snippet.

Q: What do you enjoy most about playing Horatio Caine? He’s a very interesting and complex character.

A: I would describe Horatio as a man I deeply admire. The situations that we deal with in this world of crime-scene investigations are sometimes challenging, sometimes horrific situations, and the thing that Horatio brings to the setting is poise. Poise and the ability to be effective under pressure. He also has a very deep identification with the victims. He understands their pain and a lot of what they’ve been through.

More Jorja Fox “News”

Thursday, May 3rd, 2007

More chatter from TV Guide

Jorja has a raise on her mind. The star of CSI staged a one-day walkout from the set during the shoot of the CBS show’s season finale, which airs May 17. The actress is in talks with producers about a new contract to keep her on the show, sources familiar with the discussions tell TV Guide. How those talks go may decide the result of the cliff-hanging finale in which Fox’s character, Sara Sidle, is struck by an automobile. At one point the story had Sidle dying, but it was rewritten to be more ambiguous and Fox returned to work. Neither the network or a spokesperson for Fox would comment.

William Petersen and Marg Helgenberger Kissing on ET

Thursday, May 3rd, 2007

This kiss is play on the idea that Billy only gets to kiss Marg on ET. He’s done this at least once before.

I find this clip a little disturbing. It’s nice that they like one another but this kiss goes a little far for two married people IMO. I don’t think this is going to go over well with Gina and Alan.

On the other hand they know the people they are married to.
