Jorja Fox Returns to Help with “Family”

We have little more information on Jorja’s return to CSI.   According to CSI’s executive producers Naren Shankar and Carol Mendelsohn, Sara’s back to help the familial feeling’s that been lost with the changes in the team.

“The family had disintegrated a little bit,” Shankar said. “We had people off in their own bubbles, and we want to restore that family [feeling]. And Jorja’s helping with that.”

“Sara comes in and brings everyone together. And she helps Catherine understand that as the [new] leader, she needs to make the team cohesive and really fire on all cylinders again,” Mendelsohn added

Grissom and Sara are definitely still together even if everything isn’t perfect. “They’re absolutely together,” said Shankar. “We’re talking about a couple of very independent individuals who have decided to share their life together. The first few months of that for any couple are a weird adjustment.”

Hmmm. Considering the family really disintegrated when the writers split Grissom off to be with Sara and hardly ever put him in stories the rest of the team, this is hugely ironic. Then in the second half of season 9, the writers all-but-dumped the team to focus on Ray Langston, who no one wants to say boo to, I just find this terribly stupid.

The true solution is in taking the focus off Ray, and Grissom and Sara and bringing Catherine, Nick, Brass and Greg to the forefront. But the writers aren’t interested in those characters and the media have no balls to challenge Mendelssohn or Shankar on why they’re neglecting their long-time cast who could do great work if they were written for.

The press releases from TPTB are getting more and more depressing and driving a lot of fans to say they WON’T be watching season 10.

Hopefully Sara comes back as the fiesty, smart person she was in the beginning–don’t even try to bring her back as the depressed, burned-out person she was when she left!
Maybe she will get Greg’s sense of humor back, make Nick smile again, and give some backbone to Catherine. And, while at it, maybe she can run off Riley and put Ray on the road!
And if she’s there for family, how about bringing in Warrick’s son?
