Eva LaRue attended Elton’s John’s Oscar night fundraiser. This is the 17th year for the gala which benefits Elton John’s Aids Foundation.
“Year in and year out if you’re not going to Kodak theater party then it’s either Vanity Fair or Elton John,” Eva said. “And to me, it’s Elton John because this is a party with a heart. This is the party that’s actually trying to find a cure for AIDS. So you feel like you’re doing good by being here and you’re getting to star sight at the same time.”
Eva did take the time to enjoy the Oscars themselves. “He [Hugh Jackman] did a fantastic job. I thought that he was akin to Billy Crystal because that’s who I miss doing it. Billy Crystal does not have the singing and dancing chops that Hugh Jackman has, but I really enjoyed him!”
Proceeds from the event go to AIDS/HIV research and to those living with AIDS.

First William Petersen, now Gary Sinise…sort of. Steppenwolf Theatre co-ounder Gary Sinise returns to Chicago with his Lt. Dan Band to preform at the theaters “GALA 2009: A Celebration of the Season of the Imagination, on April 18.”
Guests can expect a sneak peak of the 2009 season. “The evening kicks off with a unique performance inspired by Steppenwolf’s production of The Tempest, directed by ensemble member Tina Landau and featuring Steppenwolf ensemble members,” said a theater press release.
Gary’s band, which regularly preforms for troops, can expect “700 of Chicago’s corporate, civic and cultural leaders.”
I’m sure we can expect William Petersen to show for the gala. He’ll play Hamm in the Endgame during the 2009-2010 season. I hope his return to theater won’t preclude him from popping into CSI every now and them. It seems that CSI fans have a lot to thank Stepponwolf Theatre for.

William Petersen received the 2,379th star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame Tuesday. (You’ll have to forgive me for posting so late. I’ve been swamped at work.)
“I’m overwhelmed by this, needless to say. I never expected it, I never thought of this…” Billy said. “You know I feel privileged and honored and incredibly humbled.”
Marg Helgenberger paid a special tribute to her co-star of nine years.
“I can’t think of anyone more deserving of this honour, Billy. Millions of fans love him for his many memorable roles, yet the sum of all the parts he’s played don’t come close to the complexity, the kindness, the mystery, the loyalty and the generosity that is Billy himself.”
You can check out photos of Billys with his wife Gina, on screen love Jorja Fox and many more members of the cast and creative team.
Former CSI supporting cast member Gerald McCullough recently fought off an attacker during a late night subway ride.
“It was about 2 a.m.,” McCullouch said. “I have a place here now, so I take that train at least once a month. I was trying to reach my buddy, Keith Collins, who was having a party at Antik. But my iPhone died, so I took out my laptop to recharge it. I started working on a YouTube video I’d been editing on the plane.
“The train was pulling into the Utica Blvd. station when I noticed someone cross in front of me. Just as the doors opened, he reached for the laptop. I guess he thought he’d grab it and dash out the door, but I gave him a body shot to the chest.”
McCullough, an amateur boxer, thinks his work in the ring helped him take control the situation.
“I don’t know why I did that except that I box three or four days a week and had just been in the ring about eight hours before. Also, I didn’t want to give up my computer after working on my video all that time.
“Well, that’s when he pulled a kitchen knife out of a black plastic bag. This thing must have had a blade 10 inches long. The other passengers started running out the door and into the next car.
In response, the thief pulled a large knife.
“I still had my headphones on with music blaring. I yelled at the top of my lungs, ‘Get the [bleep] away from me!’ That’s when the knife came down into my back. I don’t know whether he lost his grip or what, but the blade didn’t penetrate my leather jacket.”
McCullough got off the train and went straight to a local police station.
Police arrested James Torres for robbery, assault, menacing and criminal possession of a weapon.

Songstress and actress Ashlee Simpson-Wentz and Fall Out Boy Pete Wentz are set to guest star as Bonnie and Clyde types on an upcoming CSI: NY episode.
Simpson-Wentz plays Lila Wickfield, “a 21-year-old hotel cleaning lady who is working her way through community college, and Wentz will play her boyfriend, Chester Bryon.”
The photo above is from a warehouse scene the pair shot for the upcoming episode. . Ashlee’s acting credits include 7th Heaven and Malcolm in the Middle.
To my knowledge this will be Pete’s first major acting gig. CSI is really working the Gen Y Taylor Swift is set to make a guest appearance on a the original series. CSI:NY will be Ashlee’s first major role since the birth of the couple’s daughter Bronx Mowgli Wentz in November.

DESCRIPTION:
(from CBS’s press release, August 2008) Inspired by the top-rated series “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation,” CSI: MIAMI is a drama that follows a South Florida team of forensic investigators who use both cutting-edge scientific methods and old-fashioned police work to solve crimes. Horatio Caine, a former homicide detective, heads a group of investigators who work crimes amid the steamy tropical surroundings and cultural crossroads of Miami. His team includes Calleigh Duquesne, a bilingual Southern beauty with a specialty in ballistics; Eric Delko, an underwater recovery expert who knows all the twists and turns of the Florida waterways, and Ryan Wolfe, a former patrol officer who specializes in blood and trace evidence. Rounding out the team is Natalia Boa Vista, the enigmatic DNA specialist. Helping Horatio with cases is Det. Frank Tripp, a tough yet thorough police officer. Together, these investigators collect and analyze the evidence to solve the crimes and to avenge those who cannot speak for themselves - the victims.

Variety reports that One to Go earned C’SI’s largest ratings since September 2007. President Bush’s own final speech created 15-minute delay for East Coast viewers, the episode had 24.3 million viewers and “6.6 rating /14 share in the adults 18-49 demo.”
CBS won the night in it’s entirety. Grey’s had the lowest number of viewers int he series history with 13 million viewers(woe that’s nearly half of CSI’s viewership).
We can expect William Petersen and probably Jorja Fox to return to the show from time to time. He’s still exec production so expect him to have some influence in the show as it moves on without him. I think it’s important to the viewers that William Petersen approves of Laurence Fishburne as a replacement and that Grissom approves of Dr. Langston as a replacement. I look forward to seeing how the show evolves with Dr. Langston as part of the team. How do you feel about the new cast member?
